Privacy
This page describes how Neutral News currently operates and the data associated with visiting the site or contacting us by email.
Responsibility and contact
Jean-Francois Gauthier, the publisher of Neutral News, can be reached at jeffgau2@gmail.com with questions about your personal information.
Visiting the site
The site does not offer reader accounts, registration forms or newsletter subscriptions. Searches within an edition take place in your browser; the site does not send the search text to a search engine. The language selector opens the equivalent page in French or English.
The site is hosted by Netlify. Technical information, including your IP address, browser characteristics and the resource requested, may be processed by the hosting provider to deliver and secure the service. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
Cookies, advertising and audience measurement
Neutral News integrates Google AdSense to fund its content through advertising. Ad delivery remains subject to Google’s approval and ad availability. Before loading the advertising code, the site asks you to allow or refuse advertising. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key neutralnews-publicite-v1 and applies to both language versions. If you refuse, the code is not loaded and the articles remain accessible. No separate audience measurement tool is installed.
If you allow advertising, Google and its partners may receive your IP address, the address of the page visited and information about your browser and device. They may use cookies or identifiers to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud and, depending on applicable consent choices, personalize advertising. See how Google uses data from partner sites and its advertising policies. These services may process data outside your province or country.
A Google consent message is also configured for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. It allows them to review partners and purposes, refuse consent or manage their options. Google’s privacy link allows these choices to be changed when it is displayed.
You can change your general choice at any time using “My advertising choices” at the bottom of each page. Refusing later reloads the page without the advertising code. It does not delete third-party cookies already stored; use your browser settings to remove them. You can also visit Google My Ad Center. Ads, when displayed, are distinguished from editorial content and do not constitute recommendations by Neutral News.
Spaces labelled “Advertisement” are reserved for advertising on editions and article pages. When no Google ad is displayed, they may show an invitation from Neutral News to contact us about an advertising placement. This invitation does not load any external advertising tracking service.
Email correspondence
If you write to us, your address and the information you provide are used to review your request and respond. Correspondence is handled through Gmail, Google’s email service, and retained as needed to process and follow up on the request. Avoid sending sensitive information that is not necessary.
Links to sources
Articles contain links to third-party websites. When you open them, those sites apply their own privacy practices and may use cookies or measurement tools.
Your requests
You can write to the address above to request information about data you have provided, or to request access, correction or deletion. Requests are considered in light of the circumstances and applicable obligations.
