Iran: the House passes another war-powers resolution
The 220–204 vote strengthens congressional opposition. It does not establish that military operations have ended.

The House of Representatives adopted H.Con.Res. 93 on Tuesday evening by 220 votes to 204. The House floor record says the measure invokes the War Powers Resolution to seek the removal of U.S. forces from hostilities against Iran. The vote was recorded at 10:32 p.m. on September 15. [1]
An additional political signal
According to Associated Press, this is the House’s third vote in favour of ending the war. Seven Republicans joined the Democrats voting for the measure, compared with four Republicans in the previous vote. The shift remains limited, but broadens support beyond a single party. [3]
Democrat Seth Moulton, the resolution’s sponsor, describes the outcome as a reassertion of congressional authority over military engagement. His statement advocates greater legislative oversight. This is a sponsor’s argument, rather than a judicial finding about the full extent of presidential powers. [2]
The record establishes the vote, not troop movements or orders issued. A congressional result is not an operational change. [1]
What to watch next
AP notes that previous votes have not ended the conflict. Further congressional action and the executive response remain to be followed. [3]
Moulton’s statement places political accountability at the centre of its argument. Our reading distinguishes that position from effects that can subsequently be observed: support for a resolution is measured in the vote; its practical impact must be assessed through later decisions. [2]
