Updated from the October 10 advisory at 0900 UTC, after the October 9 landfall.

The NHC places Isaias over Alabama with sustained winds of 55 km/h. It forecasts further weakening. [1]

The coastal landfall

The hurricane made landfall near Destin, Florida, on Friday evening at Category 2 strength, Deutsche Welle reports with news agencies. That landfall preceded the weakening observed on Saturday morning. [2]

Hazards remain

The NHC’s tropical storm and storm surge warnings have been discontinued. Flash-flood and tornado risks remain. [1]

Reported disruption

DW’s report describes evacuations and flight cancellations at Destin-Fort Walton Beach during the hurricane’s passage. It does not establish a complete damage tally or the resumption of those services here. [2]
