Oleshky: evacuation convoys have left the city
The operation follows the local agreement announced by Washington on October 23.

Updated report; original timetable retained.
Evacuation convoys left Oleshky on October 30, AP reports. Their departure does not establish that all the civilians involved have reached their destinations. [3]
The White House announced on October 23 a local Russia–Ukraine agreement brokered by Melania Trump to deliver aid and prepare civilian evacuations from Oleshky. Its statement sets the ceasefire’s start for October 29. [1]
The original timetable
In its October 23 evening update, however, AP reported that Ukrainian negotiator Dmytro Lubinets expected the truce to begin October 27, two days before the mission. It was expected to last several days. [2]
The agreement’s scope
The announcement provides for voluntary evacuations. It concerns a local operation, with no general ceasefire agreement. [1]
The UN’s role
At the UN’s October 30 press briefing, OCHA said it had received no official request for support at that stage. It was monitoring the situation and urging compliance with international rules during the evacuation. [4]
