Carried forward November 3, 2026. November 1 opening and previously verified conditions retained. The program website was inaccessible during this morning’s check.

Virginia opened enrollment for 2027 marketplace health insurance on November 1. The announced period ends January 29. A new state program can reduce premiums for eligible households. [1]

Conditional assistance

The assistance targets residents with household income between 138% and 250% of the federal poverty level. Other conditions apply, including eligibility to enroll and access to other coverage. [2]

The amount

Savings vary with the household and chosen plan. They supplement federal tax credits the household qualifies for and require enrollment. [1]

Comparing plans

The FAQ says the reduction is shown during the application process and funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants can compare prices after assistance before choosing. [2]
